I had the pleasure, but also the challenge, of assisting in planning Layne & Tyler's wedding in just 4 months! Tented weddings themselves are more difficult to plan and take a more detailed assessment to put together. Besides the shortened planning timeframe, it was so much fun designing this gorgeous day for Layne & Tyler to enjoy!
Some of my favorite design elements included:
1. The crystal chandeliers that were carefully and strategically hung over the center of the dance floor!
2. Bringing in a custom dance floor wrap with their customized monogram, which carried over into the other stationery elements! The dance floor brightened the space tremendously and gave this partying crowd a great space to dance!
3. The tent liner with thousands of twinkle lights! Originally, we planned on having clear panels on the tent top, but due to the shortened timeframe, we had to pivot and chose a tent liner instead. I think it was a blessing in disguise at the time, but we absolutely adored how the tent linen with the lighting turned out! Sometimes the alternative plan turns out even more beautiful than the original design!
4. Over a thousand candles, yes...one thousand candles were used to make this tented wedding shine after sunset! The ambiance and glow this many candles gave to the tent was just magical.
5. Incorporating 4 linens throughout the tent also gave it an elevated and luxury feel, making each table interesting and textured in a different way! I love incorporating different linens and centerpiece types like we did for Layne & Tyler. This draws your eye all around the room, giving dimension and interest throughout.
6. The stone place cards! These were hand written by our stationer, yes, all 250 of them! This stone element gave the wedding a natural feel, while still remaining elegant. The stone place cards gave the place settings texture and doubled as a favor for guests to take home!
7. A separately curated ceremony space. This ceremony was my favorite because we pulled off designing and building it from nothing! It took an entire team to do, and we greatly appreciate all the vendors who had a hand in pulling this together! We brought in subflooring and staging to create an aisle. This brightened the area and made for a beautiful entrance for the bridal party & bride! The florals end to end down the aisle perfectly frame their stunning floral arch.
Layne & Tyler enjoyed their night under thousands of twinkle lights, surrounded by a thousand candles, in a decked out tent with their favorite people. Although the planning process was quickened, it made it even more rewarding to watch the day come together perfectly for these two.
